Welcome

The Music Teachers' Association of California is an organization founded and incorporated in 1897 to promote the welfare of the music teacher and to elevate the educational and teaching standards of its members. The exacting qualifications for membership in the Association establish the member as a qualified and accredited teacher in the community, thus insuring a professional status.

The Conejo Valley Branch of the Music Teachers' Association was chartered with 12 members in April 1966. The branch serves teachers in the Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Simi Valley and Moorpark areas. Our membership includes music teachers with private studios, instructors at private and public schools and college professors. Instruction is available from member teachers in piano, organ, voice, violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, french horn, trombone, trumpet, music theory, and music composition.

Our students have many opportunities to perform at festivals or to enter competitions. These include the state Certificate of Merit Program, the Southern California Junior Bach Festival, VOCE, and the Young Artist Concerto Competition scholarship offered with the opportunity to perform with CWOTO orchestra (please visit  www.cwoto.org). The Conejo Valley MTAC also sponsors special programs and concerts which students and community members can attend.
